  • Sept. 17: Harry Elkes Ride, The Hub, Brant Lake (Sponsored by Adirondack Cycling Advocates)

Join us for Ride On! Weekend Sept. 24 & 25, 2022. This event showcases the four distinct mountain biking destinations in Warren County, NY, and gives you an opportunity to earn a meal at a local eatery just for riding your bike and exploring new trail systems!

Warren County, NY, is a riding destination featuring four professionally built singletrack trail systems, located from the southernmost to northernmost reaches of the county among several authentic Adirondack communities. Come for the trails and stay for the experience!

Saturday's event features riding at Gurney Lane Bike Park in Queensbury, NY and at Brant Lake Bike Park in Brant Lake, NY. Lunch is provided by The Hub right at the BLBP trailhead!

Sunday's event features riding at Garnet Hill Lodge in North River, NY, and Ski Bowl Park in North Creek, NY.  Take a stroll around North Creek and check out local eateries with deals from local businesses!

Bring the whole family! In addition to sweet pro-built singletrack, each destination offers hiking opportunities and more.

Saturday, Sept. 24

  • Starting at 9 AM: Check in at the UHTA (Upper Hudson Trails Alliance) tent at Gurney Lane. Group ride at 10:30 AM. Participants can then head up to The Hub for lunch and a group ride at 2 PM.

  • Starting at 9 AM: Check in at Garnet Hill ski shop and enjoy watching or racing in the Garnet Hill Grit Race, a mountain-bike race on Garnet's trails. Ride On! Weekend participants may also choose to just ride the trails and not race. There will be food and beer afterward!

During the winter of 2018/2019, father and daughter Dave Matthews and Alex Kochon decided to get started on a project they had been dreaming up for some time: to create a comprehensive, mountain-bike trail guide for Warren County, New York, in magazine form. They had been inspired by GRIP, a mountain-bike guide for Rutland County, published by The Mountain Times in Killington, Vermont.

In May 2019, they published and distributed 10,000 free copies of the inaugural Ride On! Warren County MTB Trail Guide and teamed up with The Hub and Wilderness Property Management to host the first Ride On! Weekend. The two-day recreational gathering took place at four featured bike parks to support local trail-building efforts and kick off the MTB season.

In June 2021, the second Ride On! Weekend was held with the help of the Upper Hudson Trails Alliance. Dave and Alex decided to expand the trail guide to include Saratoga County and published the 2022/2023 Ride On! edition in May 2022.

With trail maps detailing the best that the Southern Adirondacks have to offer, Ride On! is for tourists and locals alike — really anyone looking for new trails to explore on their bikes. Thanks to the help of Adirondack Sports & Fitness, another 10,000 copies of the 2022/2023 edition will be distributed over the next two summers.

Dave and Alex would like to also thank our talented designer, Cayla Ferari (Point-to-Point Creative), Drew Cappabianca (The Hub), Steve Ovitt (Wilderness Property Management), Wendy Matthews, and all of our supportive advertisers. Ride On! is a reality because of you!
